Background

A client from Japan, specializing in Access Point (AP) equipment, sought a 5GHz flat panel antenna with high gain to enhance the coverage of their WiFi wireless networks. The antenna was intended to be used with their AP devices to extend the reach of wireless connectivity in various environments.

Challenges

The challenge was to design a high-gain antenna that could be seamlessly integrated with the client's AP devices, transforming wired signals into wireless signals for broad WiFi coverage. Additionally, the antenna had to be durable and weather-resistant to ensure reliable performance in outdoor settings.

  1. High-Performance Circuit Board Design: We designed a high-performance circuit board tailored to support the 5150-5850MHz frequency band, a critical range for 5GHz WiFi operations. The antenna was engineered to achieve an impressive gain of 18dBi, facilitating long-distance WiFi coverage.

  2. Integration with AP Circuitry: The antenna was specifically designed to interface seamlessly with the client's AP circuit boards, ensuring efficient signal conversion and transmission.

  3. Weatherproof Aluminum Enclosure: To ensure the antenna and AP circuit board's durability and protection against the elements, our engineers developed an aluminum enclosure. This housing was designed to provide waterproof and dustproof capabilities, enabling the wireless bridging equipment to operate reliably in outdoor conditions.

Design and Development
