Background:
A Japanese client, a specialist in Access Point (AP) equipment, reached out to RF element for a 5GHz flat panel antenna with high gain to amplify their WiFi wireless networks' coverage. This antenna was meant to work in tandem with their AP devices to boost wireless connectivity across different settings.
Challenges:
The main challenge was to craft a high-gain antenna that could be easily integrated with the client's AP devices, converting wired signals into wireless for extensive WiFi coverage. Moreover, the antenna needed to be sturdy and weather-resistant to maintain reliable performance outdoors.

Our engineering team worked closely with the client to grasp their precise needs and limitations:
1. High-Performance Circuit Board Design: We created a high-performance circuit board that supports the 5150-5850MHz frequency band, vital for 5GHz WiFi. This antenna was designed to achieve a gain of 18dBi, enabling extensive WiFi range.
2. Integration with AP Circuitry: The antenna was tailored to integrate smoothly with the client's AP circuit boards for efficient signal conversion and transmission.
3. Weatherproof Aluminum Enclosure: To protect the antenna and AP circuit board from the elements, we engineered an aluminum enclosure. This housing was made to be waterproof and dustproof, ensuring the equipment's reliable outdoor performance.
Design and Development:
The development process included:
1. Antenna Gain Optimization: Our engineers aimed to maximize the antenna gain within the 5GHz band for the broadest WiFi coverage possible.
2. Material Selection for Enclosure: We chose aluminum for its lightweight, durable, and weather-resistant properties, ideal for outdoor installations.
